A true Texan by birth and by choice, I was born in Amarillo, TX, and reared in New Mexico. I eventually made it back to Texas where I graduated Valedictorian from Bastrop High School in 1987. The first degree I earned was in Marketing from Texas State University. I then worked for Dell Computer Corporation for six years. I later earned my second degree in Dental Hygiene from Austin Community College, and now I have been practicing as a Registered Dental Hygienist for 13 years.
While working as a hygienist, I began to look into a holistic way of seeing the world including proper diet, healing crystals, grounding techniques, and the means by which we heal our bodies. Then, in 2023, I discovered the amazing world of Myofunctional Therapy, which optimizes the basic elements of life, eating and breathing, in order to naturally remedy life-long instances of disorders and chronic diseases. Here, I discovered a way to work with you to help correct disfunction using exercises to strengthen the muscles of the mouth and retrain your body’s subconscious habits. I also developed a specialization in Cranial Myofascial Therapy, a gentle manual massage therapy using slow interactive pressure and stretch techniques to assess and release restrictions of in the head, neck and oral cavity, often providing much needed temporary TMJ pain relief.
For Myofunctional Therapy, I trained with Mary Billings and Dianah Davidson with the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM), and I am preparing for IAOM certification. I have studied Buteyko Breathing through the Buteyko Institute. I am a member of the Airway Circle and the Myofunctional Therapists of Texas. For my myofascial training, I spent a week at the MFR training seminar with John Barns, then specialized in Functional Neuromyofascial release with a focus on providing orofacial and TMD relief, taught by Tim King and Sarah Beach. I will continue to practice as a dental hygienist, but I look forward to helping you to enjoy better health through therapy in a natural way!
